Working in the hospital and healthcare industry, Tom Giancursio discovered a need for a medical testing laboratory that truly placed patients first. HealthQuest Esoterics combines unparalleled testing capabilities with a human touch, a service-oriented approach that differentiates us.

Tom possesses years of experience in the medical industry, having served as President of a number of successful California-based medical companies. His vision for HealthQuest Esoterics has helped the company flourish since 2015, and the laboratory moved to an expanded state-of-the-art facility in early 2020.

The team at HealthQuest Esoterics is made up of talented, compassionate people at the top of their respective fields. From our Doctorate level scientists who are capable of developing effective new tests from scratch, to our warm and responsive customer service representatives, we are proud to have built a team who shares our philosophy of serving our community.

We believe in the work that we do, and its importance in determining someone’s health care plans. Our collaborative approach makes us more agile and responsive, enabling us to offer an expansive testing menu, and to specialize in esoteric testing.


Due to the increasing complexity in health plans and the management thereof, billing for laboratory services have equally been made more complicated, and ultimately unpredictable. Similar to a clinic, it often times is difficult to confirm what coverage is available and what a patient’s responsibility would be, before the rendering of a service.

Because of this, HealthQuest is pleased to extend to clients our Patient Empowered Billing (PEB) program. When the patient has questions on their procedure, Explanation of Benefits (EOB), or invoice, they are encouraged to call our Client Services and Billing teams directly. The patient is empowered to ask any questions they want and provide comments/feedback to our team members regarding the service as well as the billing details thereof; all with the purpose of resolving patient concerns most easily and quickly as possible. The PEB program is our way of ensuring that patients stay in control of their healthcare spend.
